Owner
Donato
Originally moving to Liverpool to help his brother open his first business Il Forno. The duo later wanted to open their very own Italian Deli and launched P&D Deli in 2011.
Now known as the Gran Caffè, Donato’s main aim was to share his love and passion he and his family have for Italian cuisine and modern treats and wanted to create a concept that offered something for everyone.
For over 10 years Donato has been overseeing his family business, watching it evolve into the go-to spot to enjoy a coffee and cake in the heart of Liverpool. So proud of what his family have achieved, he is very thankful of all his very loyal customers.
General Manager
Carmelo
Carmelo was born in Sicily where he trained in a traditional Sicilian bar learning to craft the perfect gelato and granita.
In 2012, he moved to Liverpool and joined the team at the Gran Caffè where he works hard to ensure each and every customer is guaranteed an excellent service.
Carmelo has worked in every part of the Gran Caffè over the years, starting in the kitchen, making fresh croissants and gelato to now managing the Gran Caffè.
Master Barista
Guiseppe
Our talented Head Barista Guiseppe has worked in various coffee shops over the years, bringing his knowledge of coffee and perfecting his craft of coffee art to the Gran Caffè in 2015.
Guiseppe’s favourite part of the job is that it allows him to connect and share the joy of serving everyone what is on offer at Gran Caffè.
